Training Courses Offered and Requirements are as Follows:

***Guard Card Permit***

• Must be at least 18 years old

• Undergo a criminal history background check through the California Department of Justice (DOJ) and Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI)

• Complete a 40 hour course of required training; administered by any private patrol operator or certified training facility.

• Submit security guard application with registeration fee.

Initial Guard Card Class (Module A)

• First 8-hours of required training to obtain your guard card permit.

Second Guard Card Class (Module B)

• 16 Hours of training required within the First 30-Days.

Third Guard Card Class (Module C)

• 16 Hours of training required within the First 6-Months.

Yearly Guard Card Class (Module D)

• 8 Hour Weapons of Mass Destruction refresher course required yearly.

***Firearm Permit***

• Must be a U.S. citizen or have permanent legal alien status

• Take our 14-hour training course (8 hours classroom--6 hours range) in the carrying and use of firearms.
• Pass the written and range exams

• Submit a firearm permit application with application fee.

Requalifications (twice/year)

Firearm permits expire two years from the date of issuance. In order to retain a valid firearm permit, you must requalify twice/year (four times during the life of the permit). Requalifications must be at least 4-months apart.

---Please note: You can only carry a firearm of the caliber that is stated on your permit. Carrying a different caliber, other than that, is a violation of the law.

***Tear Gas (MACE) Permit***

• This is a required 2-hour training course approved by the Bureau that must be completed by those who wish to carry tear gas on duty.

***Baton Permit***

• To carry a baton you must be registered as a security guard
• Complete an 8-hour training course from our certified instructor.

***SB 1626 Training***

• All security guards and/or school security officers employed by a school district for more than 20 hours per week must complete this 24-hour training course.

***PSO (Proprietary Private Secur Officer) ***

• This 16-hour course must be completed within the first six months of receiving the PSO registration or within 6-months of the date of hire by the PSO employer.
• This training course consist of 2-hours of Powers to Arrest, 2-hours of Weapons of Mass Destruction and Terrorism Awareness, and 12-hours of security related courses as outlined in the syllabus.

We also carry all necessary forms required for renewals, change of address, request for duplicate permits, and etc. There may be a charge for specific forms.
